Arrogant driver arrested

01.04.2014.

A driver of Bosnian registration plate ‘Opel Corsa' has been arrested this evening after cutting off with a power grinder the clamp that had been put earlier today on his car by JKP ‘Parking Servis' attendants. The incident took place in Ilije Garašanina Street near the number 16.

The arrogant driver already owes 30 000 dinars to JKP ‘Parking Servis' for unpaid daily tickets. Having seen that his car had been clamped he called the towing service to tow his car away. However, when the tow service staff saw that his car was clamped they refused to remove the car. He, then, brought the power grinder, cut the clamp and put it in his car.

Andrija Čupković, ‘Parking Servis' acting Manager, immediately took to the field to visit the attendants who are in charge of the clamping and called the police. ‘Palilula' police station members set off in search for the driver and soon arrested him

‘Such arrogant behaviour of debtors' who refuse to pay their dues and express their anger by destroying public property will be severely punished. I would like to thank the police for their timely response which clearly demonstrated that no one is above the law. We will press criminal charges against this thug and any other who tries to remove the clamp on their own. We will stop this practice and restore order. In cooperation with the police and judicial authorities we will work on launching harsher penalties for arrogant drivers who jeopardize the communal order in Belgrade, said Čupković ‘It is unacceptable that anyone let alone big debtors behave in such an aggressive manner', concluded Čupković.
