12.12.2024.
The City of Belgrade and the public utility company "Parking Servis" have donated medical equipment worth nearly 6 million dinars to maternity hospitals as part of the "Baby Parking Place" campaign. This marks the conclusion of the sixth cycle of the campaign, through which the City Administration and this socially responsible public utility company support healthcare institutions where babies are born.
At the donation ceremony held at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of the University Clinical Center "Serbia," the host institution, the maternity hospital in Višegradska, received seven electric hospital beds with mattresses, which will be available to expectant mothers starting tomorrow. The Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic "Narodni Front" was provided with 125 gynecological surgical instruments, neuromuscular relaxation monitoring equipment, and a table for gynecological ultrasound examinations. Thanks to the City of Belgrade and "Parking Servis," the Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital at the Clinical Center Zvezdara received two additional electric gynecological tables and a laboratory microscope with a digital camera, while the Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital at the Clinical Center Zemun received five cardiotocographs and two sterilization lamps.
Professor Dr. Aleksandar Stefanović, Director of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at UKCS, stated that the Višegradska Clinic, which is 101 years old, has never closed its doors and operates 24/7 every day of the year. As the largest institution in Belgrade and the region, it is obligated to provide the highest quality medical care.
Professor Dr. Željko Miković, Acting Director of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic "Narodni Front," emphasized that this is a significant donation aimed at improving working conditions as well as the comfort and safety of patients, noting that such support is always welcome.
Professor Dr. Petar Svorcan, Acting Director of the Clinical Center "Zvezdara," and Dr. Tomislav Stefanović, Head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital at the Clinical Center "Zemun", attended the ceremonial signing of the donation agreement. Both expressed their gratitude to "Parking Servis" and shared their hope that the campaign will continue in the years to come.
Miljan Damjanović, a member of the City Council, called on all residents and visitors to Belgrade to park their vehicles in spaces designated as "baby parking spots." He added that this is an investment in a better future, as these institutions are where new lives begin and babies are born.
The "Baby Parking Spot" campaign was launched in 2017. Funds collected from parking fees at 24 specially designated parking spots within the city’s zoned parking system are used to purchase medical equipment for maternity wards in Belgrade.
