Letters of thanks given to mark successful end of the campaign
11.06.2009.
Media conference has been held today in City Hall’s stateroom to mark the end of this year’s phase of ‘Parking Servis’ campaign, which has run under a slogan ‘Pupils ask you – slow down by the school’.
The campaign for the school year 2008/2009 ran from the 7th October 2008 until 30th April this year and during that period pupils of the first grades in 165 Belgrade primary schools had an opportunity to learn about the basic rules of conduct in traffic. The children were learning how to cross the street safely, what certain traffic signs and colours at the traffic lights mean. During the campaign the pupils were given 15 713 hi-vis fluorescent vests adapted for their age in which they are conspicuous on their way to school. These vests became very popular even at the beginning of the campaign in 2007 when it wasn’t rare to see the older children borrowing the vests from their brothers and sisters.
‘Our company is very proud of this campaign and we will carry it out in the future. We believe it will be even better and more comprehensive next year. One of the indicators that the campaign has had a profound influence is the fact that fewer children have been injured in traffic on their way from home to school’, said Boban Kovacevic, ‘Parking Servis’ CEO.
Apart from visiting schools the campaign has been also taken to The Festival of Plays for Children ‘Festic’ in ‘Bosko Buha’ theatre, the Third Belgrade Children Fair and Stari Grad municipality saint guardian day, when the public class was carried out in Belgrade streets.
‘Parking Servis’ CEO Boban Kovacevic has handed in the letters of thanks, in a form of a yellow doll which has a sign ‘stop’ in its hand and has a cap with ‘Parking Servis’ on it, to all of those who made the campaign possible. The letters of thanks have been given to Belgrade Department of Education, Belgrade Traffic Department, Belgrade Police Head office and Belgrade Town Hall. The organiser expressed its thanks also to daily newspapers "24 časa", "ALO", "Blic", "Borba", "Danas", "Novosti", "Politika", "Pres", "Kurir", "Glas javnosti" and "Pregled"; radio stations Radio "Studio B", "Radio Beograd", Radio "Novosti", Radio "Indeks", "Beograd 202", Radio "S", Radio "Roudstar" and Radio "MFM".
