New UPS president elected

A new president of Car Park Association of Serbia is Radenko Vukovic, the Head of Belgrade ‘Parking Servis’ Sector of development and organization of parking control, while Dragan Rudakov, managing director of ‘Parking Servis’ Novi Sad has been elected for the Head of the Board of the Association. The election has been held at the regular UPS conference on 4th December in ‘Sava Centar’.

Car Park Association of Serbia’s activities have been defined by its own objectives and mission and that is improving of its members businesses as well as representing them in front of the state bodies. The news is that we will soon have expert teams, which will be in charge of legal, and economic-financial issues, information technologies, traffic and development, says Vukovic.

These expert teams will be qualified to give relevant advice and answers to questions concerning, for example, zoned parking system with and without time limit, payment in parking zones, VAT accounts, disabled people parking facilities, unification of parking procedures for disabled drivers, the application of the new Law of Traffic Safety in parts which are related to Car Park Association business services. The members will be given the information from the president based on expert teams’ reports.

Car Park Association of Serbia is planning to announce candidacy for European Parking Association – EPA. The benefits of entering an international organization are huge and they include exchanging of experiences on the latest achievements in parking servies.

A great source of experience in organizing parking in European cities will be of great help to us when choosing the best possible solutions for the problems we face in our line of business. This experience will also be of help to local communities, points out Vukovic.

Car Park Association of Serbia has had a great influence on creating a new Law of Traffic Safety in particular in part related to legislation of parking and towing of illegally parked cars. Apart from significantly stricter legislation the new Law brings about changes in the field of parking. The changes include greater competence and more efficient response of Traffic police concerning illegal parking. In addition to this clamping of illegally parked cars has been introduced, as it is the case in many European countries.
