Vests given to pupils of Mladenovac, Lazarevac and Surcin
24.03.2008.
Within the campaign ‘Pupils beg you, slow down when driving by the school’, PUC ‘Parking Servis’ representatives will be giving out protective vests and educational boxes ‘Ten life saving rules’ this week to the youngest schoolchildren of 24 primary schools in municipalities of Mladenovac, Lazarevac and Surcin.
The aim of this educational and entertaining programme is to prepare pupils of the suburban areas to be successful participants in traffic.
During the previous week, from 17 to 21 March, first graders of 17 primary schools in municipalities of Obrenovac, Grocka and Barajevo got as presents protective vests, picture books, stickers and DVDs about traffic rules and safety in traffic. 1800 pupils enjoyed getting these educational boxes.
During the first stage of the campaign in September, October and November 2007. over 11 000 Belgrade schoolchildren mastered the basic rules of conduct in traffic. In order to draw drivers’ attention to themselves and remind them to ‘slow down by the school’, these schoolchildren wear fluorescent vests to and from school.
The children choir ‘Carolija’ has recorded a song ‘Look after our pupils’ for the campaign and it became a huge hit.
At a ‘Noc reklamozdera’ event, this campaign was pronounced the best non-profit campaign in Serbia for 2007. and this success was made possible with the outstanding media support, which from the very beginning realized the importance of the campaign and took an active part in its promotion.
The organisers’ wish is to keep up our concern for the youngest throughout the whole year and that wearing of vests become a practice which will be adopted by generations to come who will participate in traffic.
